Daryl was born in Baltimore, Maryland, on October 8th to Rozlyn James and Nathaniel Johnson. He spent his early years growing up in Baltimore. Enjoying all the things that Baltimore had to offer he flourished in school and in everything he participated in. At a young age people started to notice that Daryl was not a shy kid. In school he would perform in plays and always took roles of leadership.

He would soon move to Fredericksburg, Virginia; where he was raised by his loving grandmother. Unknown to Daryl his grandmother would give him many tools he would need to succeed in life. Education was always in the forefront of her household. Growing up in the rural south, he also learned early on that being funny was a characteristic that would break the racial barriers that plagued the area. He soon found his passion in making people laugh.

Staying close to his roots, both in Maryland and Virginia, Daryl embarked on his college career in the Washington DC area where he acted in numerous plays. He received his BS in Decision Sciences and Management Information Systems, from George Mason University in 2001. While at George Mason, being enrolled in The School of Management, extracurricular courses in theater were considered ineligible for credit.

With his winning personality and love for both Technology and Entertainment Daryl was able to convince the school that these were acceptable courses for credit in the business school. The School of Management then allowed students to take Acting Courses to help with communication and speech giving abilities.

While at George Mason, Daryl would participate in Black Box Theater programs and star in Sketch Comedy and Improv groups. Daryl also participated in sketch comedy shows in the Washington D.C. area. With the eagerness of entertaining on a larger platform Daryl joined the Mason News Team by being the video host of the school yearbook. Also taking Television and Film courses Daryl immediately knew that his next move would be to Los Angeles.

Upon graduation from the college stage for plays and receiving his degree, Daryl set his sights big and moved to Los Angeles to pursue his dream of entertaining the world. His current aspirations are to be seen on the small screen. Daryl can currently be seen on the big screen in such films as County General, Carpool Guy, and HACK!

Today Daryl lives and works in Los Angeles; continuing to follow his dreams. He owes everything to the two most important women in his life. His mother Roslyn who gave him life and wanted nothing but the best for her oldest son and his Aunt Julia who tought him that life is what you make of it. Without these two remarkable people the man you see before you today could not be.
